Honors / AP

What is Honors?

Honors classes prepare students for AP classes. Students taking Honors classes need to be ready to handle fast-paced curriculum and rigorous coursework.

What is Advanced Placement?

AP courses are college level courses taught at the high school for advanced students. Students have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop study habits necessary to succeed in college. AP courses are offered via open enrollment.

All AP courses follow the open enrollment policy.

In order to meet the rigor inherent in AP/H classes, students must consider the following:

o  Have foundation classes/skills necessary for the course of interest

o  Turn in all work on time and as assigned to keep pace with the course work

o  Be attentive and participate in class to keep pace with the curriculum

o  Demonstrate effort, care, maturity, and commitment.
