Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members,

I hope this message finds you well and rejuvenated after a restful summer. As we prepare to embark on a new school year, I am thrilled to welcome each of you back and introduce myself as the new principal of Mark Keppel High School. I am deeply honored to rejoin this community, where I know there is a strong commitment to fostering a love for learning, growth, and excellence.

I have worked for the Alhambra Unified School District for the entirety of my career.  I began my career as an instructional aide in the Migrant Education Program and then became a Spanish teacher for 20 years at Alhambra High School. My administrative career started in 2015, but throughout my tenure I have held various roles, each contributing to my comprehensive understanding of educational administration and leadership.

This year, we will focus on cultivating a positive school culture, strengthening academic programs, and fostering strong partnerships between our school and families. I believe that when we work together—students, teachers, staff, and parents—we can achieve remarkable things.  I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where we embrace our shared values, celebrate our diversity and  all students, staff, and families feel heard, valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

As we step into this new school year, I invite you to join me in making our school a place where everyone feels welcome, safe, and eager to learn. Whether you are a returning member of our school community or new like me, I look forward to the many ways we will grow and succeed together.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with your thoughts, questions, or concerns. I am here to support you and to ensure that this year is filled with meaningful and enriching experiences for all.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Warm regards,

Alejandra Perez
