Principal's Message

Welcome Back, Aztecs!

We’re back! Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. We’re very excited to get the year started. A lot of people have been working extremely hard to get everything in order for the start of school on August 10th.

As with last year, we have a number of changes, both to personnel and the facility itself. The A-building hallways got a fresh coat of paint. Also in the A-building, windows with etching were replaced while stained windows were professionally washed or replaced. New PE lockers are still in the process of being installed in both locker rooms. The School Counseling office had carpet replaced or, in some areas, completely removed.

Personnel wise, we have a number of "different faces in new places". On the admin team, we have 2 new Assistant Principals. Jocelyn Castro, coming to us from San Gabriel, has taken on the role of Asst. Principal of Instruction. Diana Diaz-Ferguson is taking on the Asst. Principal of Student Welfare position. Diana comes to us from Alhambra High, where she was the Department Chair for World Languages the past few years. We also have APs in new positions, as Marisa Palacios has moved to School Counseling and Alex Perez is now in Business & Activities. Additionally, we have an Administrative Intern this year. Cindy Issa is joining us from Ramona, where she has taught for the last 13 years. She will be split in her assignment between Mark Keppel and Monterey Highlands.

On the staff side, here are the newest (and returning) members of the Aztec family:
