​Alhambra Unified School District is teaming up with a company called Revolution K12 to offer free SAT preparation courses at Mark Keppel High. These courses will help prepare you for the upcoming March 10, 2018 SAT Test. Here is the registration link to sign up for the 6-week, 9-session course. Space is limited, so sign up now. ANNUAL SPARK OF LOVE TOY DRIVE AND NEED YOUR
SUPPORT!

Unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at any of the donation bins
located at all Alhambra Unified School sites, Alhambra Fire
Department, YMCA of West San Gabriel Valley, and Alhambra
Police Department.

At MKHS, donations can be dropped off in the Spark of Love box in the School Counseling office. Thank you!

New pick-up/drop-off procedures postponed

Good evening Aztec families. This is Principal Scanlan with an important message. The new drop off and pick up procedures that were to go into effect beginning tomorrow are now on hold. Later tonight, as part of our weekly communication, you will receive a pre-recorded message reminding you that the procedures will be going into place. However, the procedures are now on hold. Halloween Costumes

As a reminder, Halloween costumes worn at school still need to comply with school dress code. If found to be in violation, students will be required to change into clothes provided by the school. If you plan to wear a costume to school on Halloween, please make sure it complies with school dress code.

PTSA Seeks Donations for National Homeless Awareness Month

As part of National Homeless Awareness Month, PTSA is soliciting donations of deodorants, pens, and unused socks and underwear from October 30th to November 9th. Donations can be collected in the Principal’s office. We have so many students district-wide that lack the basics and whatever we can give them to help out goes a long way toward making sure they are more successful academically and emotionally.

MKHS VAPA Presents "The Uninvited"

Mark Keppel Drama Department is proud to present the Fall Play “The Uninvited”. There will be a show this Thursday at 4pm, Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday at 7:30 pm. Tickets will be $7 presale at the student bank or $10 at the door. There will be additional showings on Friday, October 27th, and Saturday, October 28th.

Grab & Go breakfast

Mark Keppel High School is introducing a new breakfast program, Grab 'n' Go Breakfast. The cafeteria staff is going to set up breakfast lines at East and West Gate and you can easily pick up breakfast that is pre-bagged. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch your Grab 'n' Go breakfast is free. Otherwise, it is only $1.75 for a complete breakfast.
Grab 'n' Go will start on October 31st and breakfast will be served from 6:30 to 7:41. During the grand opening week, there will be giveaways in random bags. Don't miss out!!

10th Annual District College Fair: 10/19 from 6-8pm

The 10th annual district college fair will be held this Thursday, October 19th at San Gabriel High School from 6-8pm. Over 60 representatives from 2 year & 4-year colleges/universities, vocational schools and the military will be on campus. Various Workshops will be provided! Parents and all 9th-12th grade students are invited to attend.

Update: PSAT Rescheduled

The PSAT scheduled for Wednesday, October 11, 2017 was cancelled and rescheduled to Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Students will receive a letter next week confirming the new date (10/25/17), testing time, location, and materials. Thank you for your patience!

California Department of Education released test scores for 2016-2017 and we're proud to say Mark Keppel students tested exceptionally well! We showed great gains across the board in all of our major subgroups. This is further proof that MKHS has the best students, families, and staff around!

9/1 Varsity Football vs. Gabrielino CANCELLED

Due to excessive heat warnings, tonight's home football contest vs. Gabrielino has been cancelled. The safety and well-being of our student-athletes is our primary responsibility and the decision was made with that in mind. We look forward to seeing you at MKHS next Friday, 9/8 at 7pm as the Aztecs take on Jordan High School.
