Mark Keppel High School has launched the YouthTruth Survey! It is important that one parent from each student's household completes the survey as soon as possible. The data collection will be utilized to identify areas for growth. Please go to ytsurvey.org/ausdfamily25 and complete the survey.

This is an exciting milestone for our Class of 2026 students, their parents, families, and our entire community as our seniors enjoy their final year at Mark Keppel High School and prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives. Earning a diploma is a right, but participating in senior activities and the graduation ceremony is a privilege.

It’s hard to believe that the first quarter is already coming to an end in just two weeks! This time of year always reminds us how quickly the school year moves and how important it is for our students to stay focused, seek support when needed, and finish the quarter strong. Attention all MKHS Students taking AP classes. MK Alliance's 2025 AP Scholarship is here! In order to apply, you must be taking 2 or more AP classes (unless taking AP Art History). Each winner will receive ONLY 1 scholarship for ONE AP test for any subject/department. Recipients must attend our meeting on February 25th, 2026, at 6 PM in the cafeteria.

*Recipients who have already paid for their tests will be reimbursed for only ONE of the tests that they applied for.

Attention ALL MKHS Artists! PTSA is holding the "I Belong! Explore the arts and Express Yourself! competition. If you are interested in applying, click on the title for more information. The deadline to submit is October 15th.

Help ensure our school receives the maximum amount of federal funds by completing the Alternative Income Form (AIF). The collection of household income information is a necessary step for our school to receive federal funds. One AIF is needed for each student. CLICK ON THE HEADLINE to fill out the form.

The City of Monterey Park invites you and your families to join us for upcoming Public Outreach Sessions on the Garvey Avenue Improvement Project. Garvey Avenue is a vital east-west corridor that provides the connectivity to Monterey Park’s downtown area and community facilities to the heart of the City’s residential areas.



The project will improve capacity and operations, and add bicycle and pedestrian mobility enhancements along Garvey Avenue between Atlantic Boulevard and New Avenue. This project also includes new bikeways and mobility improvements along Newmark Avenue and Emerson Avenue parallel to Garvey Avenue.

All 9th grade students will participate in an evidence-informed classroom presentation on depression education and suicide prevention. Please click on the link to access opt out forms. For more information on Erika’s Lighthouse visit

MKHS will be offering the PSAT / NMSQT to interested 11th & 10th grade students on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. If you're interested in taking the PSAT / NMSQT at MKHS, please submit the Student Interest Form no later than 4:00 pm Friday, September 19, 2025. Click on the title to access the Interest form.

The first 204 students to submit the interest form will be assigned a space for the PSAT. Priority will be given to 11th grade students. If you miss this deadline, you will be put on a waitlist.
