ALA is happy to announce a Writing Workshop intended to provide students with strategies on how to respond to college and scholarship applications. We are thankful to count on the expertise of Steve Padilla, LA Times Editor, and Dr. Gina Chávez, Cal State LA Professor, who will be leading this workshop. Seniors! It's time to purchase senior ads for the MKHS 2026 yearbook! Spots are extremely limited and will be given on a first come, first serve basis. If you're interested please follow the next steps:

2. If you receive an email back, it means your spot has been reserved and you will receive information for next steps. If not, it means that all the spots for senior ads have been sold.
3. Ads are being sold for $130 for a half page and $80 for a quarter page. See the attached sample below for reference

Attention Seniors! We’re excited to announce that your Grad Nite at Disney California Adventure is officially set for Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026! The celebration begins at 12:00 PM and continues through 2:00 AM on June 4th.

The registration list for the 2026 Disney California Grad Nite is at capacity. For students who would like to be on the waitlist, please complete the Waitlist Google Survey. This scholarship is open to Alhambra Unified School District seniors who identify (in any way) as Latina/o/x and plan to enroll in post-secondary education in the fall of 2026. Winners will be selected from each high school within the district: Alhambra HS, Mark Keppel HS, San Gabriel HS; one from all the BOLD Academy Programs and one from all the Independent Study Programs.

DEADLINE:
Application, Essay, Transcripts and Letter of Recommendation must be submitted by: Friday, March 13, 2026 - NO EXCEPTIONS!

As we head into the final month of the semester, we’re here to support students and families in wrapping up the year on a high note! For seniors, this is the last stretch to complete college applications, with UC and CSU deadlines on December 1st—aim to submit early to avoid last-minute issues. Remember, our College Application Workshops are available for extra guidance.

With finals approaching, we encourage students to take care of themselves by practicing mindfulness and managing stress in healthy ways. Winter Break is just around the corner, so stay focused and make these last days count!

This is an exciting milestone for our Class of 2026 students, their parents, families, and our entire community as our seniors enjoy their final year at Mark Keppel High School and prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives. Earning a diploma is a right, but participating in senior activities and the graduation ceremony is a privilege.
