Monterey Park's Safe Routes to School Plan an will identify
ways to make walking, biking, and rolling to and around
school easier and safer for students. Using field research,
data analysis, and input from you, the City is developing the plan
as part of Vision Zero, a greater initiative to improve street
safety and accessibility in Monterey Park for everyone.

This scholarship is open to Alhambra Unified School District seniors who identify (in any way) as Latina/o/x and plan to enroll in post-secondary education in the fall of 2026. Winners will be selected from each high school within the district: Alhambra HS, Mark Keppel HS, San Gabriel HS; one from all the BOLD Academy Programs and one from all the Independent Study Programs.

DEADLINE:
Application, Essay, Transcripts and Letter of Recommendation must be submitted by: Friday, March 13, 2026 - NO EXCEPTIONS!

ALA is happy to announce a Writing Workshop intended to provide students with strategies on how to respond to college and scholarship applications. We are thankful to count on the expertise of Steve Padilla, LA Times Editor, and Dr. Gina Chávez, Cal State LA Professor, who will be leading this workshop.
