Please draw a ground plan of one of the rooms in your home. These can be drawn to 1/4" or 1/2" scale (1/4" or 1/2" = 1 Foot). Be sure to show where all the furniture or other items are in the room, including doors, windows, etc.
In addition, please draw a front view of the same room, BUT YOU ONLY NEED TO DRAW ONE WALL. Be sure the wall has something interesting like a window, a door, furniture, etc. Also, this drawing must be to scale, as well, either 1/2" or 1/4". Neither of the drawings are in perspective.
Mr. Gillette's lecture is posted here and at the end he goes into detail about this assignment. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Gillette.
When you are finished, please upload both drawings here. Thanks!

Hey all...now that you have learned how to do basic hand sewing, you will use your skills to create a sewing project. You will be making a "pillow" or stuffed object using the supplies we distributed to you last week. Here are the criteria for the project:
1. Can be any shape that you wish
2. Must be made from a pattern (see examples below)
3. Must include a button and use one of the stitches you learned to sew in class.
4. Must use stuffing (we provided this for you, but you can use your own if you wish)
5. Be sure your project has tight seams that won't easily come undone; that it looks like the pattern when you are finished; and be sure any thread that shows is on purpose and therefore decorative and NOT just sloppy.
You DO NOT have to use the fabric we provided for you. You can choose to use other fabric you might have at home. Your pattern can be anything you choose and you can find one online or make (draw) your own. But, whatever pattern you choose, please be sure your final project LOOKS like that pattern .
WHAT IS A PATTERN? For our sewing project, we are defining a pattern as a guide or template you use to create your sewing project. For example, you may decide you want to make a pillow shaped like a bear. For your pattern you would draw out what you want the bear to look like, including colors, OR you might find a pattern online of a bear that you want to use. Once you have decided on a pattern, we will take you through the next steps in class.
Attached are some projects from last year that you might enjoy. If you see a pattern here that you like, you may choose to use that pattern for your own project. Please note that not all the projects and sewing patterns are next to each other. Also, I didn't keep copies of all the patterns.
WHEN YOU FINISH WITH YOUR PROJECT, PLEASE TAKE A PICTURE OF IT AND UPLOAD IT HERE. THANKS!

Find the errors on the lighting plot that is attached. There are three errors. When you find them, use the chart to explain what the error is. Then explain where the error is on the plot. To do that, explain what lighting position it is (eg Electric 1, House Right Tree, etc) and the light number (the number on the fixture icon). Then explain why this error would cause a problem for lighting a show.
Due:
Fill out one section per person in their presentation
Due:
1. You are going to turn in your light plot for the scene you chose from the fairy tale you chose. You are lighting the same scene that you chose to use for your morgue. Let your morgue guide your lighting. If you do your light plot in LX Free, make sure to export it as a jpg to turn in. If you do your plot by hand, take a very clear photo and submit that.
2. You are also going to be doing a lighting lab, which I explained in class today. You will need to take a picture of your finished lighting lab scene and upload it here. If you wish, you can take a screen shot of the light lab and submit that.

Your assignment is to create a Lighting Morgue of a scene from one of the following Fairy Tales:
CINDERELLA, LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, SNOW WHITE, SLEEPING BEAUTY, THE FROG AND THE PRINCE, RAPUNZEL, JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, THE LITTLE MERMAID, HANSEL AND GRETAL, OR MULAN
Please follow the instructions Mr. Gillette discussed in class. You will need to upload 4-6 pictures and a short discription of the lighting you chose for the scene.
Lighting morgues due Monday, Dec. 7 for period 5 and Tuesday, Dec. 8 for period 7. Please upload your morgues here. Thanks!
Please upload you lighting morgue here.
Attached is an example of a lighting morgue that someone created. They were doing their morgue for a different reason than you and they were designing multiple scenes. You are only doing one scene from your selected fairytale, so you will not need this many slides. Also, she didn't need to do a description of her designs as they had already been approved. You don't need to write a lot, but you do need to justify your choices. I'm posting this example so you see how to put together a lighting morgue.

If you wish to use the film we are posting, that is fine, just use one minute of it. But, you can create your own animated or short film, or find a 1 minute short film online that you want to use. If you use an already created film, BE SURE YOU STRIP THE SOUND FROM THAT FILM FIRST AND THEN CREATE YOUR OWN SOUND TO ADD TO IT. HAVE FUN!!

Hey all....here is your SOUNDSCAPE assignment which is due at the beginning of class on Thursday for period 5, and Friday for period 7. Period 7, I will explain this in class tomorrow.
ASSIGNMENT: Please create an original image (draw a picture or create one with a computer program) or find an image online for which you can create a SOUNDSCAPE. Remember: a SOUNDSCAPE is the sound which is created for a particular environment. Ultimately, the sound starts to tell a story that goes along with the image. For example (and in the example below), if you draw a picture of a beach scene, you would expect to hear sounds of waves crashing, children laughing, seagulls screeching, lifeguard whistles, etc. Your SOUNDSCAPE only needs to be about 45 seconds long. We will share these during our next class meeting.
I have also included the SOUNDSCAPE we heard in class.
Thank you!

So, since you don't have a physical locker this year, we thought it would be fun to get to know you by having you design a VIRTUAL locker! Click on the links below for instructions, my locker (for an example), a blank locker for you to complete, and some helpful links to help you create your VL. We will give you some class time on Monday/Tuesday to work on your locker. You will share your virtual locker during class time in small groups on 8/20 (periods 3 & 5) or on 8/21 (period 7). Your VL is due at the beginning of class on Thursday, August 20 or August 21 (period 7). Also, Period 7, I will go over this locker project during class tomorrow morning. Have Fun!!

Hey all. It is important that your parents see the syllabus, objectives and contract for this class. Once you have shared it with them, please have them (and you) complete the attached document and turn it in to me. This is our record of proof that they are aware of the work we do in tech theatre, the safety concerns we have, and, should we get back on campus this year, the production hours needed for this class. Thank you!
Due:
Hey all, if you haven't done so already, you need to join Remind for our class. You will find the Remind Join Code on the first page of your Google Classroom. Once you have joined, please complete the attached document. Thank you!
