Hey all...now that you have learned how to do basic hand sewing, you will use your skills to create a sewing project. You will be making a "pillow" or stuffed object using the supplies we distributed to you last week. Here are the criteria for the project:
1. Can be any shape that you wish
2. Must be made from a pattern (see examples below)
3. Must include a button and use one of the stitches you learned to sew in class.
4. Must use stuffing (we provided this for you, but you can use your own if you wish)
5. Be sure your project has tight seams that won't easily come undone; that it looks like the pattern when you are finished; and be sure any thread that shows is on purpose and therefore decorative and NOT just sloppy.

You DO NOT have to use the fabric we provided for you. You can choose to use other fabric you might have at home. Your pattern can be anything you choose and you can find one online or make (draw) your own. But, whatever pattern you choose, please be sure your final project LOOKS like that pattern .

WHAT IS A PATTERN? For our sewing project, we are defining a pattern as a guide or template you use to create your sewing project. For example, you may decide you want to make a pillow shaped like a bear. For your pattern you would draw out what you want the bear to look like, including colors, OR you might find a pattern online of a bear that you want to use. Once you have decided on a pattern, we will take you through the next steps in class.

Attached are some projects from last year that you might enjoy. If you see a pattern here that you like, you may choose to use that pattern for your own project. Please note that not all the projects and sewing patterns are next to each other. Also, I didn't keep copies of all the patterns.

WHEN YOU FINISH WITH YOUR PROJECT, PLEASE TAKE A PICTURE OF IT AND UPLOAD IT HERE. THANKS!
Find the errors on the lighting plot that is attached. There are three errors. When you find them, use the chart to explain what the error is. Then explain where the error is on the plot. To do that, explain what lighting position it is (eg Electric 1, House Right Tree, etc) and the light number (the number on the fixture icon). Then explain why this error would cause a problem for lighting a show.
1. You are going to turn in your light plot for the scene you chose from the fairy tale you chose. You are lighting the same scene that you chose to use for your morgue. Let your morgue guide your lighting. If you do your light plot in LX Free, make sure to export it as a jpg to turn in. If you do your plot by hand, take a very clear photo and submit that.
2. You are also going to be doing a lighting lab, which I explained in class today. You will need to take a picture of your finished lighting lab scene and upload it here. If you wish, you can take a screen shot of the light lab and submit that.
