It’s hard to believe that the first quarter is already coming to an end in just two weeks! This time of year always reminds us how quickly the school year moves and how important it is for our students to stay focused, seek support when needed, and finish the quarter strong. Take a moment and read all of the great things happening at MKHS for the month of October!

Attention all MKHS Students taking AP classes. MK Alliance's 2025 AP Scholarship is here! In order to apply, you must be taking 2 or more AP classes (unless taking AP Art History). Each winner will receive ONLY 1 scholarship for ONE AP test for any subject/department. Recipients must attend our meeting on February 25th, 2026, at 6 PM in the cafeteria.

*Recipients who have already paid for their tests will be reimbursed for only ONE of the tests that they applied for.

Help ensure our school receives the maximum amount of federal funds by completing the Alternative Income Form (AIF). The collection of household income information is a necessary step for our school to receive federal funds. One AIF is needed for each student. CLICK ON THE HEADLINE to fill out the form.

The City of Monterey Park invites you and your families to join us for upcoming Public Outreach Sessions on the Garvey Avenue Improvement Project. Garvey Avenue is a vital east-west corridor that provides the connectivity to Monterey Park’s downtown area and community facilities to the heart of the City’s residential areas.



The project will improve capacity and operations, and add bicycle and pedestrian mobility enhancements along Garvey Avenue between Atlantic Boulevard and New Avenue. This project also includes new bikeways and mobility improvements along Newmark Avenue and Emerson Avenue parallel to Garvey Avenue.
