Course Description

American Literature is a college preparatory English class. The course studies the history of American Literature beginning with Pre-Revolutionary War writers through present day Contemporary Literature. Students will experience a variety of different authors and study different styles of literature including autobiographical accounts, poetry, non-fiction literature, and fictional novels. Students will have daily assignments covering current novels the class is reading and written assignments on the current text. Students will gain an appreciation for the diiferent cultural aspects that have all influenced America's rich history of Literature.
