Notes must include the DATE OF THE ZOOM and the MAIN TOPIC (USUALLY IN RED ON MY SLIDE) and any notes or activities for the Zoom class (circle maps, group work, lecture notes etc.)

In your group you will create 4 slides discussing the literary elements assigned to your group.

Format for each of the 4 slides: Literary element, example of the element as a Direct Quote, how the use of the device impacts the story and a picture representing the QUOTE.

Group 1: p 13 and 14 Mood
Group 2: p 15 and 16 SHAMPOO etc.
Group 3; p 17 and 18 Gothic elements
Group 4: p 19 and 20 Mood
Group 5: p 21 and 22 SHAMPOO etc.
Group 6: p 23 and 24 Gothic elements

On page 33 of the textbook is the definition of GOTHIC LITERATURE and a list of its elements. After reading and annotating the page about this LITERARY STYLE, watch the videos to gather more information.

Draw a Gothic structure that appeals to you, such as a cathedral, castle, or other medieval building and capture the essence of Gothic Literature. Re-read the Launch Text-Explanation Model essay on page 6 and 7 if you need some ideas about Gothic images.
Be creative and detailed.

Read pg 12 "About the Author" which gives a short introduction to Mr. Poe and then watch the video below.
1.Write at least 3 important facts that you now know about Mr. Poe on this feed.

1. In your groups complete the Mood Words worksheet ( you only need turn in one sheet but make sure all names are on the worksheet)
2. Choose ONE OF THE MOOD WORDS and write a short paragraph together. ( turn in one paragraph per groups and make sure all the names are on the doc. )

You will only have 30 minutes so work together on a single Google doc. Due in this class today.

Take the test on Quizlet and upload a picture of your score. Be honest. : ) We will have different formats for the vocabulary test so keep studying.

You will read, annotate, and complete the work on pages 2-9 in your My Perspectives textbook.
It is ok to write in the textbook. Please use dark blue or black ink when working in the textbook.

Complete the following activities for these pages: Discuss it -VIDEO IS BELOW (2), unit goals (4), Academic vocabulary(7), annotate (6-7), summary (8), and quick write (9).

For this first textbook assignment complete all the pages and then take a picture and upload. (Future assignments will be done differently, but for this assignment please take a pic and turn in all pages.)
