The week of May 3rd to May 7th is Teachers' Appreciation Week. Every year during this time, I would have construction paper out along with all other art supplies needed for my students to use to create cards for their teachers. When students are done, they'd give it to me, and I'd put them in the teachers' mailbox. 


However due to uncontrollable circumstances, I am assigning you all a "project" to create ecards for your teachers (they can be current teachers or former ones). I've attached a few links below, which are all free, some sites require you to create an account, some do not. I know "Greeting Islands" does not require you to create an account to make ecards.

If you don't have a teacher in mind, Mother's Day is Sunday, 5/9/2021, and since we're all in a pandemic and can't go anywhere (just yet), you can create a virtual one and surprise her.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) You can choose any teacher to create an ecard for (EXCEPT FOR MS. NG, cuz doing your DL work is enough
appreciation for me...) and when you are done, please send it to your teachers b/w the days of May 3rd to May 7th.

2) Click "Mark as Done" on GC when you've sent your ecards. I don't need proof, I trust that you did.

So here's some common questions my students would usually ask....
1) Do I HAVE to?
ANS: Look into your heart and see you if have an answer to that question. If you feel forced to create an ecard to show that you appreciate your mom and/or your teachers, then there is no point.

2) How many do I have to make?
ANS: Again, it's up to you, but I'd say at least one (for your MOM or a teacher). You have a lot of time...think of any teacher or teachers (past and/or present) who have left you a lasting impression. Since all teachers are online, you can search up their school emails (you can look up your old school's website, and find the teacher under "directory")

In this assignment, you will practice taking a screenshot of you schedule of classes (from Powerschool/Student Portal). Note, you are using keyboarding shortcuts to take a screenshot AND NOT with your phone. Click on the Google Doc below, and follow the instructions.

Write an autobiography chronicling your experiences in science from your earliest memories to your most recent recollections. Write this as an essay in which you address but don’t limit yourself to the following questions…

When do you first remember learning about science? What did you learn?
What did you like most and least about the science classes you have taken?
Tell me some of your most memorable experiences in science.
When you think of Biology, what do you think of?
What are you looking forward to this semester in Biology?
What should I know about you in order to best teach you?

How long should this be? As long as it takes to do a good job, but 2 pages should good, but you are welcomed to write more!

A Google Docs "Science Autobiography" has been shared with you, please type directly on that doc and make sure to click "Turn In" (upper right hand corner, next the to the "Share" button) before you exit GC.

1) Please be sure you are logged-in to your school email account.
2) Click on the "Formative" link below, and when prompted, allow it to have access to your @students.ausd.us email account.
3) Read the Instructions on the Go Formative Assignment & Complete all of the requested information on the Student Information Sheet.
4) Go to back to GC, and click "Turn In"

Ms Ng will be going over the syllabus with the class today. Please pay attention to the information regarding Synchronized (LIVE ZOOM meetings) & Asynchronized Student Learning, and how grades are broken down and earned

1) Click on the syllabus
2) Once the syllabus is opened, follow alone as Ms Ng goes over it with the class.
3) Download and Install DocHub (Chrome Extension), the link is found on the syllabus, but if you need help, ask (on verbally, non verbally on Zoom (Chat) or "raise your hand"
4) Sign & Date the Syllabus, then upload to GC, and "Submit"

DUE: Monday, 8/17 @ 3:30pm (can also be submitted before the due date, as well)
