P.3 GFSF-Fall 2020 Assignments

Choose 3 “sample interview questions” and write a response you might say at a job interview for each question. In total you should have 3 questions and 3 responses.

What sacrifices do you think you will have to endure while obtaining the necessary requirements for your chosen career? What commitments will you make to obtain your dream? Do you feel you can achieve your 10-year goal?

The last day I am accepting late work from Unit 3 is Friday, December 11.

What are the five skills most important to succeed in your chosen career? Are these skills career-specific or transferable? What transferable skills do you have? How can you tell if a skill might be considered “transferable?”

Explain in detail how you overcame academic or personal challenges/obstacles in your life.

With career you are considering in mind, list some steps related to learning about or preparing for that job.

Explain how technology/online tools (ie. Google classroom, Career Cruising, Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Handbook, etc.) can be utilized to research educational and career goals

Now that you have completed the Career Interest Survey, which career are you leaning towards to and why? Also, which careers are you no longer interested in and why? Please elaborate in detail, taking into consideration education requirements, salary, working environment, work-life balance, etc.

Describe the difference between internal and external needs. Is it possible to be at different levels on each side of Maslow’s Modified Triangle? How? Where do you feel you currently are on Maslow’s Modified Triangle and explain why. How can you continue to move up on the triangle through outside support and your own actions?

What do you feel are the messages that society gives individuals based on their gender, race, age, physical appearance, physical ability, social status, economic status, intellectual capacity, educational achievement, etc.? What do you believe are the messages that people close to you in your life give to you?

Directions: On ONE Google slide, create a Maslow’s pyramid with the different levels of needs. On EACH level, copy and paste 1 picture and explain, in 1 sentence, the way the pictures signifies the level.

Define the term “value.” What are your top three values? Why do you think values should be considered when choosing a career? What strengths do you think you possess? What ways do you think these skills might benefit you in school or in a career? What additional skills do you want to obtain and why?
