Client wants a Bird House made out of wood for her son but wants it unique. Her son loves anything Marvel, Disney, DC, Pixar, Star Wars. Create a detailed Sketchup Drawing with measurements and components for her.


ALSO Create a Bill of Materials and a quote that includes wood costs and labor estimate costs at $25 per hour.



Requirements:
- entrance hole must be 1.25 inch DIAMETER
- must have a roof to protect the hole from water going in
- 3/16 inch DIAMETER dowel that is (glued into the full thickness of the wood) below the entrance hole to land and takeoff
- you will be using 3/4" white oak at $4.25 per board foot
- dowel is $0.25 a linear inch

Sketchup requirements:
must have multiple components (I will use Xray to see how it will be built)
surfaces must be intersecting correctly as if it was built. (ie. walls must touch each other if they are supposed to be connected)
must have measurements and exploded views

Submit your photos for the scrap wood challenge. Try to get good photos because this is what I'm going to upload to Instragram for the final round.

Step 2: Once the glue dries then create a unique drawing on it with your Initials and period on it. Please BE ARTISTIC!

Below is an example of a well cut and artistic totem.

Create a fence that is flush to miterbox and glue it in place. Measure the distance from the miterbox to the end of the wood and cut. Use the offcut to push against the middle upper part of the miterbox to create a flush line and glue the fence in. Make sure you only put glue on half of the width so glue doesn't squeeze out on the inside. Hold the piece for 10 minutes and ensure there is no squeeze out on the inside.

Take a photo with your miterbox AND your totem and submit.
