Period 6 - World History '20-21 Assignments

Directions: 
1. Create a slide to add to the presentation.  
2. Add a picture of yourself, and  fun fact about yourself, or a quote. 
3. Write a short message to me or the class

Slideshow must include ALL of the following for credit:


 1. Title Page - Including your person’s name, date of birth, YOUR NAME, class period, date.
2. Early Life - (tell me about your person’s childhood or early years) - 1-2 slides
3. Adulthood - (tell me about your person’s life when they did most of the work that made them famous) 1-2 Slides 
4. Main Accomplishments - (tell me all of their successes and accomplishment)  1-2 slides
5. 3 Quotes (find 3 quotes from your person - or ABOUT your person) 
6. 5 words to describe your person and why.
(Example: My Person is: Talented - they are talented because…)


Make sure you have at least 1 picture on each slide. Make it as creative as possible! :)

Please answer using at least 2-3 sentences EACH.

Write a letter home from the point of view of a soldier in the trenches. Look at some of the examples for help, and make sure your letter contains all the following.


Your letter must contain:
- What country you are from. (Ex. “I can’t wait to get home to ______”)
- What country you are fighting in.
- Who you are fighting against. (Ex. Germans, British, etc.)
- At least 3 examples of hardships of trench warfare

You have the entire class period to take the quiz. Take your time, don't rush!
You may use your notes, homework and book for help. 


When you are finished you may leave the zoom and work on any make-up assignments.

- Share your feelings in regards to the situation, while honoring and showing respect to the victims.
- Feel free to share your thoughts and feelings regarding the 1900% rise in hate against Asian American
communities in the past year.
- What actions need to be taken, and by whom?

Read Pgs 338- 342 in your Modern World History Textbook and fill out the worksheet.

After your recorded video.... Continue reading on your own (no recording) and finish at page 267. Answer questions 1-4 on page 267. Upload your document to google classroom

Directions: Write a note to yourself for the new year. Write to yourself (Ex: Dear John, You did a great job in 2020, because...).

You can write about:

- What were the best parts of last year?
- What were the hard parts of last year?
- What are your hopes for the new year?
- What you want to focus on for the new year?

Use your textbook to read aloud pages 191-194. Please read the Biography parts about King Louis and Marie Antoinette, and the social history box about bread. Sound out the words that are difficult and try your best!

If you would like an opportunity for extra credit. Continue reading on your own to page 194 (you don't have to record this part). Then, answer questions 3, 4, and 5 on page 194 on a google doc.

1. Find a news article that is interesting to you. (Any news website - any language)
2. Read the article.
3. Fill out the current event worksheet to explain what the article is all about. Include as many details as you can.

Create a video of yourself reading pages 22-27 out loud. It is ok if you make mistakes or mispronounce words, you do not have to re-do your video if you mess up. Just try your best! :)

Work for Tuesday 10/6/20 (do not start now)
1. Students must read and complete Pages 10-12 in your "Guided Reading: workbook
2. Take a picture of your answers and submit to google classroom for points

3. Who are you closest to? Friends, family, pets?
4. Your favorite books, movies, tv shows?
5. Your favorite music artists or songs?
6. Your favorite hobbies? (What things do you do for fun?)
7. If you could have 3 wishes, what would you wish for?

On the final draft worksheet, please put all your information on your first draft to this one! If you are missing any of the information, please let me know and I can help you on it!

Directions: You will do a rough draft of your personal timeline and personal milestones on this handout. Brainstorm some ideas of what potential events you might want to talk about and provide a sample of the description you plan to put in it. Once you submit it on Google Classroom, I will approve it and you will be able to make the final draft of it. If you are unsure of what event to use or anything, leave me a note on here and I can provide feedback on it!

You are tasked with assembling eight primary sources for a time period or specific decade of time in history you want (ex. Ancient Egypt, Roman Empire, Colonial America, 1940s [1940-1949], 1990s [1990-1999], 2000s [2000-2009]). DO NOT DO 2010-2020!

Each one should be unique and not the same (ex. Do not list eight different pictures from the time). There are a variety of different primary sources, so do your best to think about what can count as one!

For each primary source, identify what person or item the source is.

Lastly, explain why this is a primary source and write in complete sentences (3-4 sentences)!

In your own words, how would you define history?

Is history worth studying? Why or why not?
