Period 4 - Government 2020 Assignments

Directions: Use this sheet to follow along with the slideshow and write down what the meanings behind each change in the US constitution. Don’t forget to include answers to the 3 questions at the end of page.

Directions: Use this sheet to take down bullet point notes on each group’s Article Presentation. This sheet may be used as a study guide for any future assessments.

With your group, research and summarize the main points of your assigned article. Then, choose someone in your group to present the information to the class.

- As the presenter shares the info, students will take notes on their study guide worksheets :)
- Make sure you put your names on your slide, and paste the link to your source/s.

Practice viewing life through many perspectives by examining the year 2020, a horrible year, through a positive lens. Your goal will be to write an informal, 5 paragraph essay on how 2020 could be viewed as a good year. Read the attachments for further explanation and expectations for your essay.

Attached is the rubric for the project, directions, a simplistic example, and a peer review sheet (to fill out after the project.)

After your group project, analyze the effort put forth by your group members.
Basically, give them a grade based on how helpful (or not helpful) they were.

Watch the 2nd Presidential Debate (Townhall Style Format) and submit at least a 2 paragraph summary response.

1st paragraph - Summarize the questions asked to candidates, and their responses.
2nd paragraph - Give your opinions or your own personal thoughts on the debate and the answers of the candidate/s.

Create a slideshow presentation that describes you!

Your slideshow must have a slide covering the following subjects:
1.Title slide - include a picture of yourself
2. Brain - Your dreams and life goals
3. Heart - Who is closest to your heart?
4. Eyes - Your favorite books, movies, tv shows
5. Ears - Your favorite music artists or songs
6. Hands - You favorite hobbies (what things do you do for fun?)
7. Feet - What things do you stand for? What causes would you march for?

Find an article either in the newspaper or online from a newspaper source (ex. TIME, USA Today, The New York Times, or any other reputable national or local source. Avoid using any articles of the following topics: Entertainment, Celebrities, Gossip, Sport Sources, Death, Robberies, Weather, Animal Attacks, Food/Cooking, Fashion, or basically anything that is not significant. Read the article and report your findings in the questions below and make sure your articles are within two weeks of the assigned date. Be sure to attach a copy of the article to this handout. Use complete sentences and do your best to provide detailed responses!
