Hello Advanced Students....I don't 5th period yesterday that you did not have to do this assignment, but as Mr. Gillette and I talked yesterday we realized it has been a year since you did any set work. So, we DO want you to complete this assignment.

You will need to create TWO drawings of a room in your home...any room you choose. One drawing will be the GROUND PLAN with all set pieces, etc. and one drawing will be the FRONT VIEW of one of the walls in your ground plan...but make it an interesting wall with a piece of furniture or structure of crown molding, a window, etc. DO THE GROUND PLAN FIRST. Also, remember that these drawings must be drawn in 1/2" or 1/4" scale. I am posting Mr. Gillette's lecture from yesterday in case you need to refer to it. Toward the end of the lecture he really explains the assignment. Please email Mr. Gillette with any questions. Remember...when you draw the Front View, you will not need to draw in perspective. Your assignment is to create a Lighting Morgue of a scene from one of the following Fairy Tales:
CINDERELLA, LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, SNOW WHITE, SLEEPING BEAUTY, THE FROG AND THE PRINCE, RAPUNZEL, JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, THE LITTLE MERMAID, HANSEL AND GRETAL, OR MULAN

Please follow the instructions Mr. Gillette discussed in class. You will need to upload 4-6 pictures and a short discription of the lighting you chose for the scene.

Lighting morgues due Monday, Dec. 7 for period 5 and Tuesday, Dec. 8 for period 7. Please upload your morgues here. Thanks!

Please upload you lighting morgue here.

Attached is an example of a lighting morgue that someone created. They were doing their morgue for a different reason than you and they were designing multiple scenes. You are only doing one scene from your selected fairytale, so you will not need this many slides. Also, she didn't need to do a description of her designs as they had already been approved. You don't need to write a lot, but you do need to justify your choices. I'm posting this example so you see how to put together a lighting morgue.

SOUNDSCAPE in Google Classroom

SOUNDSCAPE

Hey all....here is your SOUNDSCAPE assignment which is due at the beginning of class on Thursday for period 5, and Friday for period 7. Period 7, I will explain this in class tomorrow.
ASSIGNMENT: Please create an original image (draw a picture or create one with a computer program) or find an image online for which you can create a SOUNDSCAPE. Remember: a SOUNDSCAPE is the sound which is created for a particular environment. Ultimately, the sound starts to tell a story that goes along with the image. For example (and in the example below), if you draw a picture of a beach scene, you would expect to hear sounds of waves crashing, children laughing, seagulls screeching, lifeguard whistles, etc. Your SOUNDSCAPE only needs to be about 45 seconds long. We will share these during our next class meeting.

I have also included the SOUNDSCAPE we heard in class.
