SEI 7/8 READING Assignments

Finish the last 10 pages of the book. If you read the chapter already, do NOT spoil it for other people. 

Of Mice and Men. 

Don't forget to finish Chapter 3! We will move on to Chapter 4! 

Also, you will be getting a quiz for Chapter 3 to make sure you read it. 

Read at least up to page 10 of the first chapter. 

I know it's hard to listen to the description but play it more than one if you need to. Use the Edmodo link for the audio book. 

 

(A good practice would be to try it the second time without reading it and see if you can understand it better). 

12 Angry Men test tomorrow! It will be easy if you paid attention. : )

CSI Effect. 

Finish the worksheet and answer #2-5 on the bottom. 

Be sure to anwer the question, "does CSI Effect help or hurt court cases?" for #5. 

 

Pay attention to what can bias a jury. 

Think carefully and select an important scene you would act out. : )

Make sure you go over the terminology / vocabulary for 12 Angry Men and really understand it. 

 

You should also finish at least #1 of the pre-reading journal question.

2. Check your Power School scores and make sure it is accurate. If you have assignments that received a "0" and you have it returned to you, please bring it on Monday. 

Make sure you finish the "Test your Knowledge," "Cause and Effect," and "Read Closely" page of the Action Magazine packet. 

Make sure you finish reading the Aha Moment story. It's story and sweet. 

Also complete the questions on each page of the story. 

 

Make sure you finish EVERY exercise of the Sentence grammar packet. 

To clarify, for Exercise 3, you can write about a friend OR an unusual occupation. Focus on descriptioin using details AND complete sentences. For exercise 6, the FOUR different types of sentences will make sense AFTER you finish exercise 4 and 5. 

The Romantic Deed project is due on this day. 

Show your poster or sing a romantic song or act it what you'd consider romantic deeds. 

Finish the vocaublary sheet from 1/27 - 1/31. The Bonus sentences should be complete. 

It is very important you complete the following:

1. The Necklace packet. Look up words you do NOT understand but, most importantly, use the context clues to help you understand the story.

2. Finish all questions on this packet.

(We will review the answers on Thursday and take a short quiz on the story. 

 

Tomorrow, we will read a nonfiction story about a boy who was trapped in a disastrous situation. 

Complete the dictionary page of The Interloper packet. 

1. Page 4 of the packet. Read and answer questions on the margin. 

2. Find TWO examples of dialect on your own and write it down on the bottom of this page. Be sure to look up the definition of "dialect" as well as reading examples explained in your packet.
