STUDENTS:  MARK YOUR CALENDAR!  San Gabriel High School will be hosting the Alhambra Unified School District’s annual COLLEGE FAIR on Wednesday, October 14 from 6:30pm-8:30pm.  There will be over 30 representatives from 2-yr and 4-yr colleges, trade schools, and military on campus to answer your questions.

Any student that needs to make up Algebra or English, ELAC will be offering credit recovery classes. Please see you counselor immediately, classes will starting soon!  --Mr. DeVaughn,  AP Guidance

The PSAT Test at MKHS will be held on Saturday, October 17.  The PSAT is the screening test for high school students who wish to participate in the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Sign-up in the Student Bank before school, during lunch, or after school.  The fee is $20, there are some fee waivers available.  Don't miss out!  For students that have already registered for the PSAT, please stop by the Student Bank for a copy of the Official Student Guide to the PSAT.  It offers test-taking help and a practice test, with answer key.

MKHS PTSA is hosting a free UC/CSU Admissions Night on Tuesday, October 6, in the cafeteria from 7:30 to 9:30 pm immediately following the 12th grade parent meeting.  Parents and students of any grade are welcome to attend the event.  --Mrs. Sanchez

 

On Thursday, October 8, the PTSA and the Southern CAL Alumni Coalition will be hosting a "College Personal Statement" workshop.  Come to the cafeteria at 6 pm to learn from a former Berkeley admissions rep what colleges look for in YOUR personal statement.  All students are welcome to attend the presentation.  The workshop after the presentation will be available to seniors.  Sign-ups for the workshop are required.  Sign up with Mrs. Sanchez in Room 230.  Bring your personal essay draft to this workshop and get some tips about writing a winning statement.      --Mrs. Sanchez

 

The MKHS robotics club, Team 995, is accepting applications for new members everyday monday 10/5 through friday 10/9/09, at lunch in room IT9.  --Mr. Horton

 

Attention all students! Science Club applications and a $5 fee are due, today, Friday, Oct. 2. Please return completed forms and fee to any science teacher.  Cabinet member applicants, forms are also due.
