BELL SCHEDULE R
On Thursday, September 17, Back to School Night parking will be available for parents in the Front Parking Lot (F Lot) , the D Lot and on the Street . MKHS staff should park in the Back Lot (B Lot). Thank you.
STUDENTS: The Cal-SOAP representative, Valerie Ortiz, will be in the Career Center Monday-Friday or sign the Cal-SOAP call back sheet and I will respond ASAP. The California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) is designed to help increase college opportunities as well as provide info.on financial aid. All students are eligible to become a part of the program and take advantage of all benefits (such as yearly scholarships, field trips and CSU/UC recognition). Looking forward to meeting you.

If you are interested in trying out for the boy's basketball team, please come to the gym on the following days:
*Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 7-9 pm
*Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 7-9 pm

Attention Keppel Students!!! Are you interested in joining Math Club?!?! Pick up a application from your math teacher. Applications are due Wednesday, September 23rd. If you are interested in becoming a board member, pick up an application from Ms. Lee in B-17. Applications for Board are due the same day. --Ms. Lee

Fall ROP 2009 classes will begin on Monday 9/21/09, we still have a variety of vocational classes available, ( Child Care, Culinary Arts, CAD, Office, Web Page, Medical Assisting etc. Come to Career Center to sign up, must be 16 years or a junior. --Ms. Stevens/Career Center

ANNOUNCING!!! Auditions for the Fall Show The Importance of Being Earnest...We "earnestly" hope you will come by room 114 and audition for our ALL SCHOOL PRODUCTION this year. Auditions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 16 & 17, in Room 114, from 3 to 5 pm. Information on the play can be found outside room 114 - so stop by and take a look. This is your opportunity to be involved in something really fun - don't miss out!!! Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is invited to audition. Ms. Phillips
Beginning Monday, 9/14, all students MUST have a CURRENT MKHS I.D. card in order to check out textbooks. If you didn't have your picture taken during Processing, you must go to the Student Bank (temporarily located in the Adult School trailer) AFTER school ONLY, again beginning Monday, 9/14. In addition, if you have dropped a class & no longer need the book, return it to the Bookroom IMMEDIATELY. In some cases, we need those books to give to other students. You will not receive books for new classes until all books from dropped classes are returned.

Students: University of Pennsylvania will be in the Career Center on September 29, 2009 during period 5. Hurry in to the Career Center to sign up a pick up a period 5 permission slip. ~~Ms. Topete
The first National Honor Society meeting (for returning members only) will be held Monday at lunch in the gym. New members will be notified by October 1. Check with Mrs. Sanchez in Room 230 if you have any questions.

STUDENTS: Please remember that you need to be aware of your surroundings and people around you at all times. You need to be very aware when you are walking home, waiting for rides, or anytime you are in unfamiliar surroundings. If possible always walk home with a friend.
Please report anything strange or strange individuals to the school or the local authorities.
