Principal's Message


Welcome Back Aztecs,


With every new school year comes great hope and promise and this year is no exception. I am very excited and looking forward to the 2016-2017 school year! A lot of people have been working extremely hard to get everything in order to make the 16-17 school year a great one.

The beginning of a new school year also brings a lot of changes. This year, we will have 17 new/returning certificated staff members joining our team (other positions indicated in parentheses):


English- Debra Chan will be returning to MKHS. Danielle Acuna, Alexander Hill (Speech & Debate) and Ed Yankowsky (ASB, Junior Class Council).

Visual and Performing Arts-Justin Lee (Band and Orchestra)

I would also like to share some basic pieces of advice as your child navigates high school:

  • Please ask questions!
  • Communicate with your child’s teacher
  • Make sure your child has a well-rounded experience in high school
  • Think career, then college and post-secondary plans
  • AP Classes: Students should take the courses that interest them and are relevant to their potential career
