Principal's Message

Dear Mark Keppel Families and School Community,

I hope this message finds you in good health as we approach the start of the 2023-2024 academic year at Mark Keppel High School. It gives me great pleasure to welcome each and every one of you back for what promises to be an exciting and transformative year ahead. As we prepare to reopen our doors, I would like to share with you some exciting changes in and around campus.

Construction crews have been working all summer to install solar panels in various areas of our campus, including the main staff parking lot, baseball parking lot, and the lunch area on the west end of campus. The panels not only reduce our energy consumption but also provide wonderful shade. Our students will also benefit from additional lunch benches with umbrellas and a new cafeteria floor.

In other news, in an effort to improve traffic flow and student safety, we are instituting a new procedure for morning drop-off. Cars will be directed to drop students off on the sidewalk in front of the school on Hellman Avenue. The pull-in circle will be limited to buses and visitor parking. Please pay attention to the staff members directing traffic during morning drop-off as we work together to provide a smooth and safe morning routine.

The Keppel Administration team will share more important updates and information for the new school year during our Welcome Back Webinar on August 2nd at 6:00 pm. The webinar link will be available on our school website www.mkhs.org.

Wishing you all a fantastic and successful school year ahead. Together, we will make the 2023-2024 school year at Mark Keppel High School one to remember.

Take care,

Jeannie Gutierrez
