Watch the video clip of Shakespeare in Love where Queen Elizabeth knowingly breaks a law because she has mercy: she understands what it is like to be an underdog (in this case, a woman, even though a queen, in a man's world). Then, write a thoughtful, honest, informal reflection of what you would do if you were Ruler of the World. Keep the doc on your Google Drive for a few years because it will be fun to look back at it.

Ex: If I were Ruler of the World, the first thing I would do is eliminate leaf blowers. Those obnoxious, deafening, unnecessary annoyances do not need to exist. As an avid gardener, I use a rake and a broom. Leaf blowers are the lazy person's excuse to not work. Americans need exercise to help curb the obesity epidemic and getting rid of the leaf blowers helps with this as well as reduces the level of noise pollution.

:0)

10 pts EC
