Dress Code
The Mark Keppel High School follows the Alhambra Unified School District Discipline Guidelines. This includes the District Appearance and Dress Standards.
Unacceptable Dress Standards includes, but is not limited to the following:
1. Bare midsection when standing straight.
2. Sleeveless tops or tops with straps thinner than 2 inches in width.
3. Any type of undergarment showing.
4. Low back articles or low-cut front articles.
5. Shorts or skirts that are too short or slitted, which may be considered distracting from the educational process.
6. Hats, beanies, bandannas, headbands; hoods are not allowed to be worn on campus at anytime.
Acceptable head wear:
§ Baseball style caps with official MKHS logos; bills on caps must face forward.
§ Natural colored straw hats with up to four inch wide, flat brim; with nurse approval.
§ Head wear worn for religious reasons.
7. Sagging, overly baggy pants, or dragging of pant bottoms.
§ Extremely wide leg pants.
§ Pins or staples attaching pants to shoes.
§ Extremely long pant legs that gather at the bottom, held with rubber bands, etc.
8. Pants must be worn at natural waist level.
9. Initial belt buckles. Only one belt buckle is to be worn at a time.
10. Shirts/tops with obscene insignias or anything relating to illegal substances, alcohol, or tobacco products. Any article depicting violence and/or cruelty and/or sex.
11. Articles that may be mistaken as gang-related.
12. Footwear which may cause injury or tripping while on campus which includes:
§ Flip-flops
§ Any open toed shoe
§ Slippers
§ Any other shoe which does not have a sturdy sole and/or does not hold the foot in place with a strap at the heel.
13. Jerseys (Mark Keppel jersey acceptable) or Pro attire.
14. Chains hanging from pockets, spiked bracelets/necklaces, or earrings with sharp backings. No bike chain necklaces allowed.
Any apparel or accessory which may distract from the educational process.
